hard-working, fun people—GREAT people! At some point, I started to fit in (at least a little bit). I have
built lasting friendships and partnerships. I’d like to think I became part of the group. These friendships
and partnerships would never have emerged if not for CFESA bringing people together to share infor-
mation, learn from each other, and socialize. I’ve had the opportunity to know some truly unique and
extraordinary people. People like Bruce Hodge (General Parts) who is willing to share his knowledge
and expertise to help others succeed – even if they compete directly with his business. People like
Tony Rapanotti (AR Repairs), who I came to know through CFESA and who became a true friend and
helped our business grow and succeed (we miss him terribly). People like John Schwindt (Hawkins),
Gary Potvin (Pine Tree), Paul Toukatly (Duffy’s), David Hahn (FESCO), and countless others who lead
great businesses, yet always somehow find the time to contribute to the greater good in the industry.

CFESA is far more than a networking platform. CFESA provides learning opportunities for existing and
aspiring technicians. CFESA provides data, information, seminars, and collaboration to help business
owners and leaders grow and succeed – and so very much more. CFESA is part of the “DNA” of this
industry. An industry that somehow inspires even competitors to collaborate, share, and learn from
each other. CFESA helps lift everyone up.

At Parts Town, we have gone from outsider, to participant, to part of the group, to active contributor. We
now seek to be involved in every way possible to contribute to the association that has done so much
for its members and yet has so much more potential. My advice to any newcomers is to get to know
those who have truly defined this industry and made it unique and special. Find a way to contribute. To
the long-time members, thank you for everything you have done for the industry and the association.
