Business Technology - update submitted by David Duckworth, CKPS

At the last fall conference the BUS/TECH committee started with a clean slate of agenda items as well
as new committee members. All of our companies have different ways in which we utilize technology
in our day to day operations. Most of us use different ERP systems and have different processes. Re-
searching and identifying subjects that can be utilized by all members can be challenging. There were
several items that were brought forward since the conference that we feel can benefit our membership
              as a whole.

Technology Survey: Currently the committee has a technology survey running for the membership and
it will rap up on September 30th. The committee will compare the results of this survey with the previ-
ous technology survey and we will look for new trends.

Factory Forms: As more service companies move to computers and tablets in the field the need for
factory forms in a writable PDF format is needed. We have made contact with Charlie Souhrada with
NAFEM and he will be bringing this subject up at the next NAFEM Service Manager meeting.

CFESA Certification Testing: In order to maintain the integrity of our technician tests and testing pro-
cesses we are investigated the possibility of CFESA headquarters acting as the proctor for online
              testing.

Education - update submitted by Nick Cribb, Sam Service

We are continuing to develop a dispatch/soft skills course that we hope to present to the BOD prior to
the Fall CFESA Conference. This training will include an Industry Overview, Internal Customer Service,
Phone Skills, Routing & Logistics, and a segment on service operations from a Management View. We
are also reporting to the BOD about data we have gathered in reference to CFESA tech ID numbers.
Lastly, we are in the early stages of developing standard technician levels and the associated skill sets
a technician would need to master in order to move to the next level.

Marketing - update submitted by Dennis Dettman, Parts Town

CFESA 2017 National Conference is just around the corner. On Monday October 16, 2017 the Mar-
keting Committee Team will have the opportunity to get all of the members together again and work on
the next steps to promote CFESA and our Industry.

As we mentioned in the July/August new CFESA Magazine we have achieved several of our goals we
set back at the 2016 National Conference. Most notably the re-branding and content update of “On
Target” to “CFESA Magazine”. However we are just getting started and invite you to help us deliver
              even more.
